Students: Contact your school counseling office for the application form.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

The Hendrick Scholarship Foundation seeks to award Plano ISD graduating seniors who have overcome significant adversity and have financial need. We review transcripts and look for a minimum GPA of 2.0 along with evidence that the student has taken courses that prepare them for success in college.

HOW TO APPLY

Students must obtain the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation application form from their school counselors. The counselors inform the teachers and students about the scholarship details.

To apply, graduating seniors must submit:

    - Application form (with student's picture)

    - Unofficial copies of their high school transcripts

    - Essay

    - Teacher recommendation letters

Application deadline is in February of each year. Deadline dates are given to counselors at each senior high school so students should check with their couunseling office.

Applications will be reviewed and finalists will be contacted through their counselors to set up interview dates. Interviews are conducted at the schools.

The awarding decisions will be made after the interviews which take place in April. Students are notified in April.

NOTE TO STUDENTS: The essay is critical to the awarding selection process. Students should take their time in order to write clearly and descriptively about their lives, how they have overcome adversity, and their goals. This is the way that we will "get to know you" so put forth your best effort to communicate in your essay.
