Hopes and Prayers

"I hope to one day be able to help my parents get a house and not worry that they will lose it. I hope that I can one day I can share my story of success with those who think there's no hope and that dreams can't come true. Hendrick has helped me so much."

"For my future I want a life that will be able to focus more on my family than my parents could. I want a husband who is well educated who will be by my side while raising our children. I want the family that has family game night and eats dinner together every night, not in front of the TV but at the table discussing the day's events. I want a relationship with my children that I didn't have with my parents, and I want a marriage that will last."

"I pray for the strength to keep on a path of success, and for my life to be of a greater purpose than to just survive."

"Hendrick Scholarship has helped me so much, not just by monetary means but with support and constant care. I don't have a single memory of my success that Hendrick has not been part of. I really appreciate that they celebrate us, they truly care about the students and constantly encourage us with keeping in touch and always believing in our dreams, telling us that nothing is impossible if we put our minds into it. Hendrick Academy of Honor, the home of those who strive to be the best that they can be. I know I do."

"Thank you so much! I really can not express in words the appreciation I have. I lost my mom when I was three to a brutal act by my father. Since then I have bounced around from family member to family member. I live with my older brothers now, one being a high school dropout and the other a college dropout which has made me more driven to become something more. Not having parents to support you is so hard, and I am so thankful you have your help."

However the Hendrick advisors such as Mr. Spence and Mrs. Wilson do believe in me and once i showed them my college grades... both of them without even realizing how much it would truly mean... told me they were proud of me! They also are there telling me that they believe I can do it... and helping me reach my goals. You see this organization is not just a scholarship... but it is a help line, it is a community.... it is a family! The Hendrick Academy has believed in me more then my own parents have and when my personal self is shaken or doesn't think I will be able to succeed.... Hendrick is there to pick me up."
